The handloom/handweaving of piña cloth project is focus on the extraction of high quality fiber from matured pineapple leaves which are considered wastes by the farmers that serve as raw material for piña cloth.. the project aims to increase the productivity of farmers by being able to utilize the fibers from matured leaves into high quality raw materials in the production of “pinya” cloth and “barong”, provide additional income to the community as well as the inmates under reformation process for knotting of fiber and the local government, generate employment activities for housewives and out of school youths and support the small, medium and large scale entrepreneurs in the province.
